Poster produced for the Southern Railway (SR) to promote the railway?s new engines. 91 of the most powerful engines were delivered to the railway that summer, at a cost of over ?600,000. The poster was one of a series intended to keep the public up to date with the railway?s investments and improvements. The poster shows an illustration of the ?King Arthur? class express which operated on routes to and from the west of England. Artwork by T D Kerr.
