Tony Ray-Jones (1941-1972) created most of his images of the British at work and leisure between 1966-1969. Travelling around Britain, he recorded unguarded moments of people from all sections of British society, with a distinct and highly individual style. Determined to capture something of the English way of life, he combined both humour and sadness revealing the idiosyncratic nature of the English.
