The great Dornier DO-X seaplane taking off from Lake Constance on its leisurely way to the United States.Jesse Davidson ( 1913-1983) developed an interest in aviation at an early age and eventually became an aviation writer and editor in New York City. He was the lead consultant of Time-Life's book, Flying the Mail, as well as the author of Famous Firsts in Aviation. Mr. Davidson's extensive archive of aviation photographs, correspondence and interviews with many of the original U.S. air mail pilots has often been used by researchers.
