Mucha Lefevre Vanilla Biscuit Poster
This is a variant of the basic Lefevre-Utile design originally featuring a fan-shaped 1897 calendar at bottom. Here, a tip-on advertises the Gaufrette Vanille brand of its biscuits and proudly announces that it won the top prize at the Worlds Fair of 1900. One of Muchas most winsome beauties, sporting a profusion of flower-adorned blonde hair, offers a plateful of biscuits..All of the firms designs featured the initials LU somewhere, and in this case they are incorporated into the golden arch which protrudes into the picture. The girls dress has a pattern of sickles and wheat, and she even has some wheat stalks in her hair, the better to indicate the origin of the product.
