Alcoholby Leonetto Cappiello
One of three spectacular designs executed by Cappiello for Gancia, with an exuberant brunette exalting the product amidst a swirl of stars. The firm was founded by Carlo Gancia in 1850, from the start specializing in sparkling wines, as well as vermouths. In the period between the world wars, the firm was best known for its white vermouth and its Americano. As with so many other posters of this period for Italian clients, the design was produced by Cappiello in Paris and printed in Italy, all under the watchful eye of the agent Devambez.
