Racecars speeding around the track.Midget racing was hugely popular before World War II, especially in the US. The cars were relatively inexpensive, allowing young enthusiasts to participate, and the races were run with a 'devil-may-care' spirit that suited the future daredevils of the major circuits. Ham's design, meant probably as a stock image to be used with appropriate particulars from event to event, captures the frenzied atmosphere with a spectacular jumble of racers hell-bent for the finish line.
