Al. G. Field Minstrels/Alvin Brothers
Black and white portraits of the Alvin Brothers inset with cheerful clowns performing acrobats around the frames.Along with the Christy Minstrels and Haverly's Mastodon Minstrels, the Field show grew to gargantuan proportions, but eventually couldn't keep up with the required costs of running the show. The demise of the art form, however, didn't lead to the decline of invigorating lithography, as this poster for the clowning acrobatics of the Alvin Brothers, which also goes to great lengths to impress on the public that the Field show was much more than a one trick pony.
