The idea of air mail originated after World War I, when so many wartime fliers looked for some way to stay employed. It was of course necessary to get the public interested in using it, and this is an example of how the ""Silver Arrow"" air mail service was presented. The Compagnie General Aeropostale was founded in 1927; it was liquidated in 1931 and its assets were bought by Air France in 1933.
