Stunning view of Alpine village with Matterhorn in background.The formidable massif of the Matterhorn is most effectively framed by a picture-perfect Alpine village in this appealing poster by a designer who, not surprisingly, started out as a landscape painter. It was only when Reckziegel took a job in Switzerland in 1892 with printing firm Muller & Trub that he first came into contact with posters, but he seems to have accepted only assignments that permitted him to stay with his beloved landscapes.
