Josephine Baker
Portrait of Josephine Baker.Girbal carved out a career for himself in the French recording industry, doing cover work and posters for many artists on two major labels, Pathe and Columbia, from the mid-1930s on. When Columbia decided to issue some new songs by Josephine Baker after the enforced interruption by World War II, including ""Brazil"" and ""Besame mucho,"" Girbal prepared the poster for the album, as well as this personal promotional poster.
