Man dressed warm and on skis.This poster, for the Visitors Bureau of Munich, shows the state of art in 1905: there is no glamor, just a sensibly attired local old timer on skis. A native of Silesia, in eastern Germany near Poland, Erier was an avid painter of mountain scenes who studied in Breslau, and was active mainly in Munich; eventually, he moved to the village of Samedan in the Bernina Mountains in Switzerland, and did some writing.
