In poster design, he was influenced by the art nouveau movement, particularly by its British exponent, Aubrey Beardsley. His work is characterized by decorative borders or backgrounds executed with minute care and precision, generally derived from natural patterns like leaves of flowers; the overall effect is that of a most painstaking concentration and impeccable craftmanship.
