Woman holding palette and brush.It was a measure of his popularity abroad that Rhead's work was much in demand by collectors and galleries in England and France. There was an exhibition of his posters in London in 1896, and in 1897 this exhibition preceded that of Mucha's at the Salon des Cent and featured 60 maquettes. This is one of Rhead's best works and compares very favorably with the best of the distinguished Salon des Cent series.
