Poster advertising the Second Amateur Central American Games.In the days before Castro, Havana was the cultural center of the Caribbean. Here, to advertise the Second Amateur Central American Games in that city, the artist gives us a heroic relay runner lit boldly against a map of the region, with the island of Cuba arched like a leaping grey dolphin in the Caribbean sea. It's a shame that we don't know anything about the artist: His figure is magnificently modeled, and his restricted use of color is particularly effective.
