An almost dizzying repetition of curlicues and swirls, growing in magnitude from the small rosette on her hat through the swooping ostrich plumes to the stripes on her voluminous skirt. Rare!Mistinguett was Gesmars chief client and close friend from the time he was 17 until his untimely death 11 years later, and he created dozens of designs for her in that comparatively brief period.
