Soda
by Bernard VillemotOrangina Orange Soda Umbrella Poster
1984 Beach girls sipping on Orangina.Over a thirty-year period starting in 1955, Villemot executed something like twenty designs for Orangina. Most of them featured a red swirl of some sort - beach umbrellas (as is the case in this 2-sheet design), hats, orange peels, spectacles, even hair curls - which has become associated with the product, giving it a young upbeat image. Villemots death in 1989 left a serious void in the world of French poster art, unsurpassed as he was at setting just the right mood with a few simple lines and bold colors.
