1951 Charles Chaplin is known by the endearing French diminutive, Charlot.Much beloved in France, where his films were available once World War I ended, Chaplin was known there as Charlot, an endearing French diminutive similar to Charlie. This poster advertises a mini Chaplin film festival with three of his classics: A Dogs Life (1918) in which he appears in his best-known persona, The Little Tramp, Shoulder Arms (1918) and The Pilgrim (1923).
