Buffalo Bill Cody The Last Great Scout
An 1889 painting of Bufallo Bill Cody, reproduced as a poster to advertise his 1905 show.This was an 1889 painting that was reproduced as a poster to promote Buffalo Bill's Wild West in 1905. Rosa Bonheur, of Bordeaux, was a painter and a sculptress of renown with many prizes and medals to her credit, including the Legion of Honor, Spain's Order of Isabella and Belgium's Order of Leopold. She became a favored portraitist of European aristocracy and painted this portrait when Colonel Cody visited her at her chateau on one of his successful tours of France.
