1936 Monaco Grand Prix Audi F1
Two vintage race cars battling around a hairpin turn in the 1936 Grand Prix. For the 1936 Grand Prix, we get two cars battling around a hairpin turn and in the background, a beautiful view of the bay, sunny, serene, oblivious to all the fuss. The car closest to us is an Auto-Union, a German car which, for the first time among racing cars, had its engine in the rear. In 1936 it was a real race again, and in the hard rain; with one car losing oil, cars were spinning all over the place. Chiron, Fagioli and Nuvolari were the casualties; Kuril Caraccioli, driving for the Cierman team, managed to nurse his Mercedes through to win.
