The original Czech text in a banner added at the bottom advertises a Pageant on the Vitava, held in conjunction with the Sokol Organizations quadrennial athletic and gymnastic meet held in Prague in July of 1926..The spectacle left behind at least this patriotic design by Mucha, with the Sokol athletes in front protected by the mythical Slavia, patron saint of the Slav peoples (Lendl/Paris p. 120).
