Julius Meier-Graefes La Maison Moderne, opened in 1899, was a competitor of Bings Maison de l Art Nouveau. Orazi, the master lithographer and designer created one of the most arrestingly beautiful of all Art Nouveau posters for it. Using orange, blue and green tints, he gives us a model around whom all is stillness and smartness. The composition is superb, with the line that runs from the top of her head to the tip of her sleeve forming a third arm to the chair.
