Jane Derval dances in flowing, fauna-studded red dress for the Folies BergSre.The background is a plant motif, but above all, it is the fabric of the dress, gracefully studded with plants among which birds fly, which reveals (as do the jewels) de Feure's interest in the applied arts. Although the artist lived and worked for almost 40 years more, this 1904 work was his last poster. He could not have known that through it Derval, like many another Belle Epoque performers, would be rescued from oblivion.
