Saint Gaudens F1 Grand Prix
Vintage Grand Prix cars racing through France.Without a single wheel of either racer touching the ground, one gets a fairly good indication of the promised vitesse of the Grand Prix race winding its way through the Comminges mountain range. Even if this Briche work is guilty of the slightest exaggeration, one can forgive the designer for trying to attract the greatest number of spectators possible as the proceeds from the automotive and motorcycle challenge went to the French Red Cross and returning prisoners of war. As the St. Gaudens locale was known for its rather slipshod crowd control, it's probably for the best that participants never achieved the pictured escape velocity, especially as they would be battling the intense southern August heat in addition to other racers, not to mention the overzealous fans of motor sports.
