Buffalo Bill's Wild West in France.The Wild West show's program notes emphasized the hardships of the cowboy's life, noting, he has little time for tomfoolery. But there was clearly some time for it; this poster, initially utilized for the show's second 1905-06 tour of France depicts the feature described in American programs a 'Cowboy Fun' Picking objects from the ground, lassoing wild horses, riding the buckers, etc. Chaix, France's leading theatrical lithographer of the turn of the century, was one of the show's two main French printers. The date tag at bottom announces the October 12, 1905, appearance of the Wild West in Montauban.
